TGIF (TESTING GAY IDEAS, FUNNY)
The Hit Comedy/Variety Lineup Show

Recently named Solo Performer of the Year by the Young-Howze Theatre Awards, NYC comedian Michael John Ciszewski (Edinburgh Fringe, Off-Broadway) brings his hit comedy variety extravaganza TGIF to venues across New York City, most recently the PIT and Green Room 42!

Nominated for a BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award for Best Comedy Act, TGIF (Testing Gay Ideas, Funny) is an ongoing experiment combining several unstable elements: stand-up comedy, drag, storytelling, sketch, music, video, and Ciszewski’s patented Profound Gay Stupidity™. It’s New York City’s warmest, most inviting lineup show, incubated by community, curiosity, and reckless innovation—and conducted entirely without protective gear.

Every date introduces new variables in the form of guest appearances from Ciszewski’s favorite comics, drag artists, and queer weirdos; past TGIF lineups have featured performances from and collaborations with NYC up-and-coming talents and gorgeous people Mariyea, Julia Schroeder, Alex Kim, Sydney Duncan, Christopher Morucci, Kendall Davis, Ellington Berg, Maria DeCotis, Olivia Levine, Ian Lockwood, Philip Markle, Erik Martini, Reina NoBuena, Sarah Alice Shull, Brian Dudley, Noah Simes and others!

Ciszewski has been heralded as “a whip smart comic [who] holds the room like putty” (BingeFringe) and who “celebrates love the way Julia Child celebrated French cooking” (Monumental Entertainment). He has earned accolades including a Queer Performer’s Award Nomination at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe—where his show was named the #50 Top Show out of 3600!—and raves from critics and audiences (gay and otherwise) who agree the data is clear: the experiment works.

Upcoming 2026-2027 dates to be announced
